
Saifuddin Ahmed, PhD, MBBS
Principal Investigator
Saifuddin Ahmed is a professor at the Department of Population, Family and Reproductive Health at the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health. With a medical background and training in demography and epidemiology, his research spans reproductive epidemiology, particularly maternal mortality estimation, program evaluation for family planning and maternal and child health care.

Jean Christophe Rusatira, MD, PhD, MPH
Co-Principal Investigator
Jean Christophe Rusatira is a former Technical Advisor at the William H. Gates Sr. Institute (WHGI) at the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health, where he led the demographic dividend work of the institute and co-chaired the International Conference on Family Planning (ICFP). He has over 15 years of expertise in public health research, program implementation, and policy advocacy.

Henry Michtalik, MD, MPH, MHS
Co-Principal Investigator
Henry Michtalik is an assistant professor of medicine and a physician at the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine. His areas of clinical expertise include internal medicine. His research interests include patient safety issues, especially as related to patient census and transitions of care from acute to primary care, and quality improvement and systems management.

Eishita Pal, MPH, MHA
Eishita Pal completed her Master of Public Health with a concentration in Health Systems and Policy at the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health. Her research focuses on combating substandard and falsified medicines and strengthening health systems. She brings over a decade of expertise spanning life sciences consulting, healthcare IT, hospital management, and public health program management. Eishita is committed to advancing access to cost-effective, high-quality healthcare solutions globally.

Alain Koffi, MD, PhD, MS
Alain Koffi is an associate scientist at the Department of International Health at the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health. He is a population health researcher with a focus on the biological causes and social determinants of neonatal and child deaths in low-income countries. His current research examines operations and implementation research in community-based primary health care and nutrition services and community-based surveillance approaches for health systems strengthening.

Jean Berchmans Uwimana, MD, MBA, MPH
Jean Berchmans Uwimana completed a dual MPH/MBA at the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health and the Carey Business School. While working as a physician in Rwanda, he co-founded Medical Doctors for Choice, a network of young physicians in Rwanda dedicated to increasing access to comprehensive reproductive health rights, justice, and clinical services. Through his research, he envisions strengthening effective public health research programs and contributing to systems of medical device manufacturing, supply chain, and distribution channels branding from high-income to low-resource countries.
